About the Instructors

Mike Lanotte, General Counsel/SVP of Association Services, joined the Credit Union Association of New York as associate counsel in 1993 and was named general counsel in 1997. He also serves as SVP of Association Services and is responsible for the Association's governance; legal and regulatory affairs; and compliance, community development, member services, governmental affairs and education & training areas.

Henry Meier, Associate General Counsel for the Credit Union Association of New York, is actively involved in all legislative, regulatory and legal issues impacting New York credit unions. He frequently contributes to the Association's advocacy efforts and lends his legal expertise to the Association and its affiliate companies. He is also the voice behind the Association's popular New York State of Mind blog.

Mike Carter, CUCE, Director of Compliance, joined the Credit Union Association of New York in 2001 and has served as compliance director since 2009. Under his leadership, the compliance team provides member credit unions with regulatory information and guidance. Mike leads the Association's Frontline Compliance Certification Program and Compliance Updates and provides compliance training for CUNA, NCUA and other state associations/leagues.

John M. Bagyi, Esq., SPHR, is an attorney and member (partner) at Bond, Schoeneck & King, where he counsels and represents diverse employers in a variety of labor and employment-related contexts. He is a frequent guest lecturer and speaker at universities and conferences. He also serves as General Counsel to the New York State Society of Human Resource Management. Most recently, he was named a 2014 "Lawyer of the Year" by The Best Lawyers in America.
