Note: All participants are asked to bring at least one consumer loan sample for discussion, including one copy of the application, credit report, notes and a brief summary of the member's account relationship. The sample can be a recent turn down, a charge-off or a challenging loan that is in progress.
About the Instructors:
As the owner of CU Lending Advice, LLC, Brett Christensen provides lending education, training and consulting to credit unions across the U.S and Canada. Thousands of credit union professionals have benefited from his seminars, and his candid, entertaining style has made him a popular speaker in the credit union industry. Prior to forming his own company, Brett spent four years as a lending consultant and trainer and five years as a successful credit union professional in Las Vegas, Nev.
As the VP of Sales Operations for Credit Union Student Choice, Jim Holt applies more than 20 years of student lending experience to help credit unions successfully enter the private student lending market. Before joining CU Student Choice, Jim served as VP of Sales for Overture Technologies, as VP at Citibank's Student Loan Corporation and SVP at College Loan Corporation. Jim is a frequent speaker at higher education forums and is credited with crafting unique financing partnerships with prominent universities and colleges across the country.
Bob Nealon has spent more than 25 years in the automotive finance industry. As a CU Direct Regional VP, he leads a team of Northeastern credit union and dealership professionals who serve approximately 240 credit union partners and 1,900 dealership partners. Last year, credit union partners in Bob's region funded 80,000 automotive loans (totaling $1.4 billion) using CU Direct technology solutions. Prior to joining CU Direct in 2006, Bob held numerous sales, finance and leadership positions at Ford Motor Credit Company for 18 years.
