(March 6, 2013 - Albany, NY) – Staff members from credit unions across New York State raised more than $12,000 by participating in the Credit Union Association of New York’s first-ever statewide fundraiser for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. The “dress down for work” fundraiser was held on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2013.

Participating credit union employees donated money for a chance to dress down at work. Proceeds were donated to Children's Miracle Network Hospitals that serve New York and then matched by funds from CO-OP Financial Services’ Miracle Match program.

"We are so proud to support Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and the important work they do for New York families,” said William J. Mellin, Association President/CEO “Special thanks go out to the credit union staff who participated in our fundraiser, and to CO-OP Financial Services for their generous matching donation.”

Employees from the Credit Union Association of New York and its Affiliates also participated, which, when added to matching funds, resulted in more than $12,000 being raised.

The Credit Union Association of New York has served as the trade association for the state’s credit unions for 95 years. New York credit unions have assets of more than $61 billion and serve 4.7 million members. To learn more about the Association, visit
