Convention early bird registration ends Friday
Credit unionists who register for the 2013 Annual Meeting & Convention by this Friday, April 12, will be eligible for an "early bird" rate discounted by $100. Secure, convenient online registration is available on the Association's website.
Professional Development grants are available through the New York Credit Union Foundation (NYCUF) to assist with registration costs, and a special Young Professional Convention grant is available for attendees age 35 and younger.
The 2013 Annual Meeting & Convention will be held June 13-16 at The Sagamore Resort on Lake George. For more information, visit the Convention website.
Young pros invited to Plattsburgh meet-up
Young professionals from the Adirondack Chapter are invited to a free networking meet-up May 21 at Uno Chicago Grill in Plattsburgh. The event will feature a panel discussion with five area credit union CEOs.
From 5:30-8 p.m., young professionals will have the opportunity to dialogue with their peers and hear insights from the following credit union leaders: Linda Bourgeois, president/CEO, UFirst FCU; Sue Commanda, CEO, Hudson River Community CU; Randy Martin, CEO/manager, Dannemora FCU; Maggie Pope, manager/CEO, Peru Central School FCU; and Scott Wilson, president/CEO, SeaComm FCU.
Hosted by the Credit Union Association of New York's Young Professionals Commission (YPC), the meet-up is open to credit union employees/volunteers age 35 and younger. For more information or to RSVP, visit the event webpage.
Registration still available for fall CUDE training
Credit union professionals can still register for the National Credit Union Foundation's (NCUF's) fall Credit Union Development Education (DE) training. The training will be held Sept. 4-11 in Madison, Wis., and registration options are available on the NCUF website.
DE training is open to everyone, from new employees who need a credit union orientation to seasoned executives who need to recharge. Attendees will learn about credit unions' social responsibility and domestic and international development through interactive education and professional networking.
The training will take place at The Lowell Center, which is part of the University of Wisconsin campus. To assist with registration expenses, New York attendees can apply for Professional Development grants through the New York Credit Union Foundation (NYCUF).
