Association shares plans for 2014 Annual Meeting & Convention
New York credit unionists should mark their calendars and plan to attend the Credit Union Association of New York's 2014 Annual Meeting & Convention. The event will be held June 19-22 at the Saratoga Hilton at City Center in Saratoga, N.Y. More information will be provided in the months ahead.
Convention videos now available online
Credit unionists can now view several videos shown at last week's Annual Meeting & Convention by visiting the Credit Union Association of New York's YouTube channel.
The new videos include:
- a video honoring Credit Union House Hall of Leaders inductee Frank Berrish;
- a video honoring Credit Union House Hall of Leaders inductee Michael Connery;
- a video featuring Hurricane Sandy reflections and the impact of the New York Credit Union Foundation's statewide Disaster Relief Fund;
- CUNA's Don't Tax My Credit Union campaign video; and
- CUNA's Unite for Good initiative video.
A video featuring photos taken at Convention will be available next week.
Central NY, Utica-Rome chapters raise $8,000+ for CUPAC
Earlier this month, credit unionists from the Central New York and Utica-Rome chapters hosted a golf tournament to benefit the Credit Union Political Action Committee (CUPAC). Thanks to the participation of 72 golfers and support from 17 sponsors, the event raised a total of $8,295.
The tournament was held June 4 at the Links at Sunset Ridge Golf Club in Marcellus, N.Y. Foursomes from AmeriCU Credit Union and Sharenet took home the trophies for first-place men's team and first-place mixed team, respectively.
Tournament committee members included: chair Jacqueline Noun (AmeriCU Credit Union), co-chair Bruce LaGrow (Money FCU) and John Deecher (Utica Gas & Electric FCU).
"We want to thank all the golfers, sponsors and volunteers who made the tournament a success," said Noun. "Congratulations to our winners and everyone who came out to support CUPAC!"
NCUA now accepting OSCUI grant applications
NCUA is inviting eligible credit unions to submit applications for the Office of Small Credit Union Initiatives (OSCUI) Grant Program. The OSCUI Grant Program, aka Community Development Revolving Loan Fund (CDRLF), provides technical assistance grants to credit unions serving predominantly low-income members. It also serves as a source of funding to help low-income designated credit unions (LICUs) respond to emergencies arising in their communities.
Applications will be accepted through July 12, or until funds are exhausted. OSCUI will provide funding of up to $24,000 per credit union for the following initiatives: Staff & Volunteer Training; Collaboration; Computer Modernization; Financial Capability; New Retail Location for Home-Based Credit Unions; and New Product/Service Development.
