Reminder: Don't Tax My Credit Union resources available online

As tax reform discussions continue in Washington, credit unions across the state are urged to join the national Don't Tax My Credit Union campaign. American Bankers Association (ABA) is now promoting a message to increase taxes on credit unions via a website, social media campaign and videos.

To learn more and access tools for spreading the word, visit the Credit Union Association of New York's Don't Tax My Credit Union Resources webpage.

The page includes links to all available campaign resources, including CUNA's tax status advocacy toolkit and a campaign fact sheet and Facebook cover image created by the Association. As plans are finalized for the statewide Don't Tax My Credit Union Week Aug. 19-23, additional resources will be added.

Credit unions are asked to share their campaign efforts with the Association by emailing communications@cuany.org, and to include #DontTaxMyCU in any Twitter or Facebook messages related to the campaign.

CO-OP accepting THINK Prize entries

The entry period is now open for the CO-OP THINK Prize, and entrants have until Oct. 15 to submit an application and become eligible for the $10,000 grand prize sponsored by MasterCard. THINK Prize is CO-OP Financial Services' annual contest to search out the brightest and strongest ideas throughout the industry.

Credit unionists can submit a variety of solutions, such as an innovative application of technology, a new process for back-office efficiency or a fresh approach to industry advertising and marketing. Though the ideas can vary widely, the judging criteria for entries are based on four main standards: impact, creativity, aggregation (the application of the idea across the industry) and implementation (the ability to be adopted).

To learn more or enter, visit the CO-OP THINK Prize webpage.
